Today is Remembrance Day here in Australia. At 11am people around the country will pause for a minutes silence to remember those who fight for their country, who lost their lives in battle or as a result of battle. The brave men and women who served and continue to serve.
This year I decided to add a card to both my girls’ Project Life albums. I decided to make a set of free printable journal cards for project life in different sizes in case anyone else wanted to use it. Image came from someone on Facebook and I’m searching for the original. Anywho, here are the cards. They are free for personal use. There are 2 4×6 and 2 3×4.
This list could get really, really long but I’ll keep it to what I really want this month. Things I would actually use in current projects not just buy & leave sitting around 😉 (Images are linked)
The Daily Stamps (digital) at Peppermint Creative. All 5 versions (so far). This is the May set
Peppermint Creative LIP: Hello Let’s Go 3×4″ Journal & Filler Cards (digital) for my BYS album
Personal Yearbook Mini Kit for Miss K’s yearbook I plan on starting this year cause she started pre-kindy this week!
Cats Theme Pack for a mini album I want to finish on our cats. Started way back when I started scrapping in 2005!
School Theme Pack for Miss K’s yearbook.
List cards from Becky. Not sure what project I might use them in but I do want them LOL
Finally got my 2014 pages up to date *yay* and I’ve got some more Life in Details projects to share.
First up January spread (no LiD project as I had the month off)
February LiD project was red or pink. I created some digital cards but didn’t end up using them in a spread yet. Here’s one of the cards. Leave me a comment if you would like a copy of the cards.
March LiD was a sketch challenge & I used the sketch to create my month title card (for February)
My February pages
I used the current April challenge (pastels) to create 3 cards and used them for Miss K’s birthday spread
and the spread
finally my March spread
love being up to date with my PL pages. Now I just need to get back up to date with my pregnancy mini album & Before Your Story album.
One of the things I’ve added to my list of things to do this year is better organise my Pinterest boards & making sure all the links are still valid so I’m starting with one of my most used boards & that’s my Project Life board. Instead of having one board for everything Pinterest I’m separating out my boards into subjects…
Project Life – General. Ideas and inspiration for any type of album. (I’m still sorting this board)
Project Life – Wedding. All the ideas I might want to use in our wedding album. Seriously if you want to get your wedding album done I would recommend doing it Project Life style – it’s so quick & easy (unless you get side tracked by all the cute products lol)
Project Life – House. Ideas & inspiration for when I finally get around to doing our house reno album. It’s pretty empty at the moment
Project Life – Baby & Children. Ideas and inspiration for my children’s albums. Includes ideas for my pregnancy mini albums
Fallen a bit behind on sharing my Project Life pages. Just thought I’d share the work I’ve been doing for the Life in Details challenge blog. If your PLer or smashbooker you should check them out. Great inspiration each month 🙂
November’s challenge was to use some great free printables
December’s challenge was anything goes so I made a card to use in a Christmas spread
I missed January’s challenge cause I was pretty sick over Christmas. February’s challenge was to use pink & red. You still have time to enter and maybe even nab yourself some free printables made by me 🙂
Back later with my March Challenge card and some pages from my 2014 album
Welcome to the Polly! Scrap Kits blog hop celebrating our stamps! Leave a comment on any of the blogs in the hop to go in the running to win your choice of the 3 stamp sets in the Polly store. The giveaway will close in one week, so make sure you comment before Monday 16th December 2013.
I was super excited to join in on the Polly! Scrap Kits blog hop this month. The stamps in store are amazing and I had a great time playing with the Christmas stamps to make some journaling cards and filler cards for my Project Life pages. A few may even turn up in my Elf book and maybe even my JYC album 😉
I’ve used the cute Aussie Christmas set and the stamps that come in the amazing December Memories kit. The stamps are super versatile and would be great for Project Life, December Daily, Journal your Christmas, cards and so much more.
We have some extremely talented guest designers joining some of the Polly Design Team. Here is the list in case you get lost along the way.
One of the things on my 101 Things list was to Create a custom recipe book. I’ve been procrastinating on this one for sooooo long because I’m never sure how I want to do it. Then I saw a post over at A Vegas Girl at Heart about her recipe book. She even shared a very cute freebie and that sparked an idea.
The plan is to use a combination of these two kits to create an album of our family favourite recipes. I’m even planning to take photos of each recipe after it’s finished to add to the album. Now the long part – typing up all our favourite recipes. I’ve started, slowly.
Must say I am a little disappointed with the pocket pages. Cut my cover 6×8 and there’s a gap, same with the 3×4 and 4×6 pockets. Hubby says it’s not a big deal but I’m being a bit OCD about it 😉
So here’s my inside cover page, conversion chart (which comes in the September Blue kit) and the first divider page.
and then the first of the recipe pages. Two blank spots – one for a photo of the food and the other, no idea at this stage – a filler card, a quote, not really sure as yet.
And cause I’m in a giving mood 😉 I’m going to share the recipe above
Cheese & Capsicum roll
2 small tins diced capsicum, drained
⅔ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup white vinegar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
500g Philly cheese
Put sugar, capsicum, vinegar & cayenne in a small pan, bring to boil.
Bubble gently for 1 hour until jam consistency. Watch like a hawk cause it burns easily!!
Shape cream cheese into 2 logs. Pour sauce over. Chill.
Serve with crackers like Clix or something similar
I applied earlier this month for a Creative Team spot at a new Project Life challenge blog, not thinking I’d get picked. I got home today from a trip to town to check out the Launceston Harvest Market (& a little shopping at Shiploads) to an email offering me a spot on the team! I’m super excited to be part of the team at Life in Details. I’ve also been asked to be CT coordinator too so that could be fun.
What is Life in Details?
We are a challenge blog for those that love all things Project Life. Whether you are just starting out or are a veteran, this challenge blog is for you. Challenges will be posted on the 1st of the month and due the last day of the month. We will also have tutorials and share Project Life inspiration as well
Hmmm well I seemed to have missed posting my June pages and here we are at the end of July!! Where has 2013 gone? Before we know it we’ll be looking at the C word – yup Christmas is not that long away :/
Anywho, back to Project Life. Have you seen all the new goodies Becky has been announcing recently? Lots of gorgeous new products. You can check out the new releases on Becky’s blog. AND if you’re a digi/hybrid scrapper you can now get all the digi Project Life products at Digital Project Life.
These kits are so worth the money (& I do love they are a Tassie site, Kayla is awesome)
now my pages
June (no journaling yet)
July (digi cause I ran out of photo paper – again… never ending when u print ur own photos)
I did promise some of my wedding pages and if you check out my Project Life page you can see a slideshow of my album so far but I’m working on a post to share what I’ve done so far 🙂 When we get some nicer weather I’m hoping to get photos of my other PL albums (from 2009 to 2012) so I can get those slideshows up as well.
