May 2013 Project Life

Wow June already. Where have the last five months gone?

I’m pretty happy to say I’ve actually caught up with my 2013 album. AND I’ve managed to photograph it all. All I need to do now is upload it and add the slideshow to my Project Life page.

Making a change to my monthly posts. No linky any more. If you want to share your pages – link me up in the comments.

AC Digitals now have the full Rain edition. If you got Rain as part of the Digi Files you’ll need to get Bi-fold cards, Filler cards and Title cards from memory to complete the set.

Project Life is now available in Australia too! CraftHouse (from New Zealand) have opened CraftHouse Australia. Other stores are stocking PL now too so ask your local scrap shop if they will be stocking it. Becky Higgins has a list of online stores stocking PL and it looks like Spotlight will be stocking PL too. So lots of options now 🙂

I got my first Polly Scraps Project Life kit this month (after my first one went missing in the mail *sad face*)

You can’t see the 6×6 papers but this kit is so worth the money. Lots of gorgeous goodies.

Now onto my pages for May (ooh actual photos of pages – need to work out a good way of photographing my layouts)

Will be back later in the month to share with you all the start of my wedding album which I’ve decided to do Project Life style.

Mid month Project Life

It’s mid April. How are you going with your Project Life this month? I’m happy to say that, thanks to finally getting some ink (& after pinching some photo paper from the MIL, then finding my own) and working out I can print on cardstock in our laser printer, I have my 2013 album up to date! We won’t discuss the 2009-2012 album though but I am so close to having that finished, it’s just a case of sitting down and doing some journaling.

Have you seen the new digital Project Life kits?

and if you pop on over and subscribe to the Daily Digi in April you can get the Rain Edition

Anyway, on to the main reason for my post today. I’ve been working on a Project Life resource for the last few months. It started out as a little project for myself – something to refer to when I wanted to get some Project Life inspiration. Then I thought, why not share it on my blog for everyone else who might be surfing the net looking for some inspiration.

I’ll be sharing my personal pages from 2009 onwards and linking up to my Project Life posts. I’ve compiled a list of resources (inspirations; printing options/tutorials/templates; classes and challenges; storage & organisation; digital Project Life; Apps and Podcasts), products (a where to buy list), freebies and blogs about Project Life. The pages will slowly go live but you can find links to them all on my Project Life page (also accessible from the Scrapbooking menu up top).

Always looking to add to the lists too so if you have a resource that’s not on the list, I’d love for you to contact me and tell me all about it.

Project Life March 2013

Wow seriously April already. Four months in to the year. Three Project Life pages planned – not printed or put in in my book….. yet.

A couple of Project Life links first up for you this month. Just stuff I’ve Pinned over the last few weeks.

But now onto my March pages

PLMarch2013PLMarch2013_2

Using the new Midnight Edition digital bits from AC Digitals. Loving all the new editions!
My second page is 4 mini 6×6 layouts so you only get the sketches.

How are you going? Feel free to join our linky which will now be open til the end of each month (so this month the linky ends on the 30th April)

Project Life supplies

You could pretty much do a Project Life album using just all the amazing freebies there are on the net but there are some amazing digital packs to buy as well!

Obviously you can get the digital packs from AC Digitals. Click on the images to go directly to the AC Digitals store

Project Life Feb 2013

Here we are at the start of another new month (well 7 days in – so sue me… well don’t but u know lol)

This month sees me do two 2 page spreads as I do one for February and one for the birthday girl who turned three!!! this year, where has my baby gone 🙁

But first I thought I’d share a great little resource I found while looking for some Project Life printables the other week. One Velvet Morning shares Project Life freebies, printables & mixed media collages. I’ve found some very cute journaling cards and quote cards which I’ve resized for PL.

Onto the albums. Still digital cause I haven’t printed them out. My aim for the month of March is to finally get the 2011/2012 pages finished so I’m not playing catch up this year. but back to the pages…

feb 01feb 02

and

birthday 01birthday 02
blank spots on this one are for cards I’ve made myself 🙂

SO how are you going? Would love to see what you’ve created for February – join in our linky for February

You can check out my Project Life board on Pinterest for more PL stuff.

Project Life in 2013

If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know I started a series of posts about Project Life last year. I did 2 posts and then… well it kind of didn’t go anywhere. This year I am determined to do a little more and am getting a few fellow Project Lifer’s on board to keep me more accountable and help me out.

So what will you find each month?

  • I’ll be sharing my monthly spread (I do my Project Life monthly) and inviting you to share your pages too.
  • Other Project Lifer’s will be sharing their Project Life here too. How they do Project Life, what they love about the system and products they use.
  • Project Life finds – I do my Project Life as a combination of digital & paper so I’ll be sharing printable products that I find from around the net.
  • Project Life on Pinterest
  • and more

Would you like to be part of the team helping me run this series? Email me and we can have a chat 🙂

Onto the sharing. I’ve managed to get my cover & January pages finished digitally. Will print them out when I get more ink (& a new album – thanks to Mum & Dad for my birthday). Here’s my cover – with spaces left for 2 of my favourite photos of 2013.

and my January spread (minus journaling). I’m really not sure if I like my month title card yet so it may change.

Just a short post this month. I’d love to see what you’ve created this month, so feel free to leave a link to your pages in the linky below.

Getting my craft on

October onwards is usually a busy time for me with scrapbooking classes.

This year I’m playing catch up and trying to get my 2011 Journal Your Christmas album finished before this Christmas. I finally got my 2010 album finished last month *sigh*

I’ve signed up for a few classes between now and Christmas

The first (which has already started) is Becky Higgins Project Real Life at Big Picture Classes

header

“This idea is at the heart of everything Becky Higgins does with her blog, her products and in her real life. Come and join her for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend some time with her during the last quarter of 2012. As Becky goes about preparing for the holidays, organizing around her home and documenting her family’s story along the way, she’ll be sharing ideas to inspire you, tips to motivate you, and real-life suggestions on how to cultivate the life you want.”
I’m loving this class so far. I haven’t scrapped anything yet but I’ve been reading along and planning 😉

Next on the list is {Mo}tography at Jessica Sprague.

_Mo_tography__Ro_50722a6437f34

”Jessica Sprague & Heidi Swapp are teaming up to bring you a one-of-a-kind photo class! Using your cell phone, we’ll show you apps & techniques to let you take, edit, and share your pics like never before!”
I’ve taken a few classes by Jessica & Heidi and had a great time. Looking forward to this and taking better photos with my iPhone.

Shimelle has just announced her new class – Scrapbook Remix
Scrapbook Remix is an online scrapbooking class that shares the secrets to mixing patterned papers of all kinds and then creating a range of pages with this combinations. We’ll talk colour, pattern, scale, size, technique and more.”
No secret I’m a HUGE fan of Shimelle.

and then December is all about Journal Your Christmas. This will be my third year doing JYC and this year I really hope to do more than just journal and make notes.

Project Life Catch-up (Jan/Feb 2012)

cultivate a good life by Becky Higgins

Welcome to our first Project Life ‘meet-up’. I’m still not 100% sure how I want to run this but I’ll leave it open to comments & suggestions.

This month I thought I’d share some of my favourite printable/digital journaling bits I’ve found around the net.

Project Life Monthly ‘Meet-Up’

Earlier in the month I tweeted (& blogged) to see who would be interested in a monthly Project Life Meet-Up. I’ve had a few responses but I thought I’d put it out there again on my blog.

If you’ve never heard of Project Life I’ve included this little video by Project Life designer Becky Higgins and Beck has done a quick beginner’s guide.

Anyways, I thought it might be cool to get together once a month online and chat about how we’re going, share our favourite pages we’ve done in the last month, share links to our favourite Project Lifers, share links to our favourite resources/products to use in our albums, what ever you want.
