Over the past few months, I\u2019ve been exploring a range of creative practices, from daily projects to learning new skills and simply noticing the beauty around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a little creative catch-up &#8211; a look at what I\u2019ve been making, learning, and experiencing so far this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 100 Day Project: Building a Daily Creative Practice<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest creative commitments I\u2019ve made this year is taking part in the <strong>100 Day Project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This daily practice has been less about creating perfect pieces and more about showing up consistently. It\u2019s something that feels both challenging and exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workshops &amp; Creative Exploration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve also signed up (or am planning to take part in) a range of workshops that bring both learning and play:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Treasures of the Junk Drawer &#8211; creative reuse and found-object inspiration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SFX Makeup (with the kids) &#8211; a fun, hands-on creative experience together<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exploring Neurographic Art &#8211; blending creativity and mindfulness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Painting a Watercoloured Flower &#8211; connecting with community creativity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outer Cove Creative Mandala Workshop \u2014 pattern, repetition, and meditative making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Youth Week &amp; Community Involvement<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll also be supporting Youth Week activities through our local Youth Impact Council &#8211; something that feels especially meaningful in terms of creativity, community, and connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What I\u2019m Learning About Creativity This Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Reflecting on these projects, a few themes keep emerging:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creativity thrives on consistency, not intensity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imperfection is part of the process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning new skills expands creative possibilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sharing your work can be just as important as making it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This year hasn\u2019t been about mastering one thing &#8211; it\u2019s been about exploring many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Continuing the Creative Journey<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As the year unfolds, I\u2019m hoping to continue creating with curiosity and openness &#8211; following ideas, learning as I go, and embracing the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s still so much to explore, and that\u2019s part of the joy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The start of a new year always brings a sense of possibility &#8211; fresh pages, new ideas, and a quiet pull toward creativity.
