{"id":3257,"date":"2012-09-18T12:11:38","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T01:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nightwolfsden.com\/?p=3257"},"modified":"2012-09-18T12:11:38","modified_gmt":"2012-09-18T01:11:38","slug":"frocktober-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nightwolfsden.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/18\/frocktober-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Frocktober 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yup, I\u2019m going to take part in <a href=\"http:\/\/frocktober.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frocktober<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n<p>For those who don\u2019t know, wikifashion defines Frocktober as: <\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFrocktober<\/strong> is a festive fundraising initiative aiming to raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).Through fun &#8211; and sometimes quirky &#8211; measures, Frocktober is all about: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>* Increasing the public\u2019s awareness of ovarian cancer. <\/li>\n<li>* Promoting women\u2019s health and wellbeing. <\/li>\n<li>* 2Celebrating the great diversity of shapes, sizes and colours women come in. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Essentially, Frocktober puts forward a challenge to girls, women and interested men far and wide: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To don a frock for a day, week, fortnight or a full month during October, and get sponsored for it! <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, be it borrowed, second-hand, vintage, home-made, your granny\u2019s or that great dress you\u2019ve just never had the right occasion to wear\u2026 get creative, get it on and get frocking with your sponsorships, all of which will be donated to the OCRF.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who knows me knows I\u2019m not much of a dress\/skirt wearer. I would have worn trousers to my wedding if I was allowed to (glad I didn\u2019t cause I got to buy the most gorgeous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jeannienitro.com\/cbst74.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Jeannie Nitro dress<\/a> to wear). <\/p>\n<p>BUT as it\u2019s helping raise funds for OCRF I\u2019ve decided it\u2019s a damn good cause. We\u2019ve had Ovarian Cancer touch our family recently and anything I can do to help raise awareness about it and raise funds to help research is a good thing in my books.    <br \/>SO I\u2019m slowly collecting some dresses together \u2013 buying new ones, checking to see if old ones fit and asking around to see if anyone wants to donate a dress for me to wear.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like to donate a dress feel free to email me.
