Awesome Ladies Book of Me 2024

I love my Books of Me. I get to tell my stories not just my stories as part of a family, as a mum etc etc.

This year I’m trying a different format – it’s a bound mini book I bought as part of a journaling set (I only wanted the washi and all the goodies, the book was a bonus).

After taking part in the Book of Me Bootcamp I’ve managed to get my theme picked, cover and name pages done, as well as a couple of extra bits from bootcamp.

The theme I’m going with for this book is vintage and steam-punk. I’m a bit of a vintage style bender at the moment and I’m loving it.

100 Day Project

There’s been a bit of talk in the craft world this week about The 100 Day Project. That’s probably because it starts on the 18th February, so this coming weekend.

I have tried numerous times to complete this but never finished it but recently during a discussion over at the Awesome Ladies, someone suggested working through the amazing classes and challenges on the site. Now I’m known for starting classes and usually not finishing them, so my 100 Day Project is……
working through all the classes and challenges I’ve signed up for at the Awesome Ladies and getting them finished.

I think I’ll post my creations here every 10 days and on my Insta but we’ll see how I go.

What is the 100 Day Project?
From the 100 Day Project website

#The100DayProject is a free, global art project that takes place online. Every year, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of creating. Anyone can participate (yes, that means you!).

Save the date: the next round of the project starts
February 18, 2024!

Let me know if you’re taking part and where you’re sharing so I can come cheer you along

I’m bringing back my monthly reviews.

Welcome to my crafty month in review.
Each month I’ll be sharing what I’ve posted here, progress on yearly projects, what crafty things I’ve been consuming, any new crafty supplies I’ve bought, and my favourite product of the month. I may even add a head’s up about any workshops or classes that will be happening.
So onto January

The Awesome Ladies Project Feminist Scrapbook School

We’ve just started into our Spring semester and if you join the Feminist Scrapbook School you can still work through Semester Orientation.

Our first class of the year is this weekend and it’s Book of Me Bootcamp.

Spring 2024 Book of Me Bootcamp

Love this event and it always gets me excited and motivated for the year ahead.
When you join you’ll get immediate access to 15 videos which will help you create your own Book of Me.
On Saturday & Sunday there will be a bunch of live events including making your cover page, overcoming roadblocks (this one is always super helpful – creating pages about yourself can be difficult), your album setup for 2024, creating interactive pages and setting up for success.

I’ve already picked my album for 2024 but I’ll share about that after the weekend.

Hope to see you at this awesome event.

2024 in my Memory Planner

Last year was a bit of a failure for my memory planner. I’ve got all my digital plans done in Photoshop, journaling done in Day One but next to nothing done in the actual book.

This year I have a bit of a plan:

  • Monthly accountability in the Stop the Blur Facebook group I run. Someone suggested it and I’m like yes I need this too. Hoping having a group will keep us all up to date. If you are interested in joining us and a fan of the Heidi Swapp Stop the Blur classes/kits and the Storyline Chapters products, jump on over.
  • Monthly Journaling Club. Another bit of accountability. My Abiding Journal over on her Patreon, is running a free monthly journaling club. Learn more about it here. Hoping it will help with my monthly spreads.
  • Continue doing my digital page plans in Photoshop and journaling in Day One.
  • Accountability here. Sharing my monthly and weekly pages here with you all.

So essentially more accountability this year. I really hope it will keep me on track.

I’m not sure if I will continue subbing to Heidi’s stop the Blur kits when my 12 month sub finishes. The exchange rate is a pain and, honestly I have hardly used any of the stuff I have. I’ll keep doing the monthly classes though as I love the techniques and ideas she shares as well as the monthly printable. Maybe 2024 is my year to use my stash!
