Get Messy May

I’m really looking forward to this again. Will be working on it with K so hopefully we motivate each other to create more.

So what is Messy May? It’s a creative challenge over at Get Messy.

For once a month, you are challenged to create daily-ish.

That’s right, daily- ish.

This is a free challenge where above all, it’s  totally okay if you miss a day.

It’s a challenge where if you complete even one out of the 31 challenges, we’ll be celebrating.

This is a challenge for the  mess makers and recovering perfectionists. It’s for those who miss their creative practice, want to jump start it, or are absolutely rocking one.

Messy May is for you, exactly as you are right now.

You can join in on the fun here.

It’s a mini glue book

A few years ago I bought a few of those mini 3 ring binders and I wasn’t sure what to do with them. I’ve been playing with collage and glue books thanks to inspiration and challenge prompts from Margarete Miller.
Enter the idea to turn one of these mini binders into a Mini Glue Book. I’ve done a couple of pages so far, starting with Margarete’s give away challenge and prompts from the 2024 challenge prompts.

So without further ado, my mini glue book (the last image is a size comparison. That’s a standard size Momento ink pad.)

I’ll be adding these images to my Gallery so you can check out my Mini Glue Book (it’s listed in the Mini Binders gallery) as it continues to grow.

My Creative Journal

I’ve been a Patreon of Helen Colebrook’s for ages but at the beginning of the year I decided to take part in her monthly creative journal. At the end of each month Helen posts the prompts for the upcoming month and they are a mix of writing and creative prompts. Inspiration for you to create in your journal.

I’ve created a gallery for my 2023 Creative journal so I can share my progress. I’ll be updating it at the end of each month. January is up and February will be going up later this week.

It’s a nice change from just creating journal pages and it’s encouraging me to journal a bit more. Some pages it’s just a quote, other pages it’s lots of writing.

Anywho, if you’d like to join Helen’s Patreon you can do so here. She shares monthly printables, the journal prompts, monthly challenges, tutorials and a ton of video inspiration.

An OTP & new layout

A (very) pink Princess door hanger for the Mystical Scrapbook OTP challenge.

And I finally got round to starting my Scrap Your Happy album.

Didn’t get round to finishing my WDY LO (lost a pic somewhere between the study & the kitchen table & I cannot find it anywhere) but will hopefully get it done today/tonight.

OTP, Art Journals & Cyber crops

Got the OTP challnge at Mystical Scrapbooks done. The challenge was to alter a mint tin BUT the tin had to serve a purpose.

Here’s my first (yup I’m making two) – a change tin.

Two cyber crops last night, one for ScrapWorld & one for Mystical Scrapbooks. Only got one LO finished thou. I’ve decided I am doing an art journal this year (after buying one last year & not doing it lol)

One of the MS challenges was to create a page that shared our 2008 resolutions. The page had to include a pic of ourself, journaling in list form, use black, white & one other colour (I chose purple) & some bling. So anywho I’ve made this my first page of my 2008 AJ.

Still have to scrap a blurry pic (& use 10 brads min), a page with purple pics, a page about a game & a page about my scraproom. Fairly easy as I have ideas for all of them. Will share pics later & update the great scraproom adventure 😉
