Our Home Schooler:

Hi there! (This is coming soon)

Why we chose to home school:

We made the decision to check out home schooling after bouts of School Can’t starting in 2022, a diagnosis of anxiety and depression and an unofficial (but clinical) diagnosis of ASD/ADHD in 2023.

As a family, we felt that we could help with her schooling in ways traditional schooling couldn’t. We’d encourage her strengths and work on areas of less interest to give her a well rounded education.

The decision was made to undertake an eclectic hybrid approach and modify as we went along.
What’s a hybrid approach? Allowing her to go to classes at school part time (she chose Science, Maths and Drama initially) and doing the rest at home.

About our family

We’re a family of 4 who lives in Tasmania, Australia. It’s Dad, Mum (that’s me), the eldest daughter (our home schooler) and the youngest daughter.

We’re a crazy cat family who foster kitties for Just Cats so the number of cats in our house varies from the 4 house cats upwards. The most cats we’ve had at one time is 12.

Dad’s into computers, table top role playing games and history.
Mum’s into computers, art, photography and music.
Youngest is into anime, gaming and reading. She loves school.
