I’ve been a pocket scrapper for so long. To be honest I haven’t kept up with it at all since probably 2018. I’ve dabbled a bit with planning the pages but that’s it. When I saw Heidi Swapp’s class Stop the Blur advertised in May last year, I was curious. I didn’t join that month but after seeing a few spreads around the net (& getting a discount for the first month) I bit the bullet and joined. Each month Heidi shares 4 techniques and a printable to use in your planner.
Anywho, I was given the Storyline Chapters planner for my birthday in January and I think I’m slowly becoming a memory planner.
I’ve managed to keep up with the monthly spreads. It’s actually really easy. Each calendar page has monthly highlights, things that make me smile and a few photos from the month.
The next spread is something that happened each day (a line a day, if you will), In the News for major news stories, events, important things to remember, monthly highlights and goals. I’m also including the new recipes we’ve tried, what we’re watching and the monthly Covid stats for the world and Australia. Starting in March I also added a section for what was happening this time last year. It’s been interesting looking back and seeing how Covid unfolded and changed our lives.
I’m slowly working through my weekly spreads but they aren’t ready to share in order yet. You can definitely see when I started getting more game with embellishments. Hopefully I’ll be back soon and share January and February weeklies with you all.
If you are interested in checking out Stop the Blur, pop on over to Heidi’s website (while you are there, check out the Stop the Blur kit too).
The last 3 years I’ve had every intention to work on my Journal Your Christmas album and each year life just got busier and then bang it’s the New Year and I’m not in the Christmas spirit anymore and the last thing I want to do is create Christmas things.
As I posted the other day I’m planning on doing a JYC/December Daily mish mash. Less pressure on myself to get creative every day. We’ll see how that goes.
Anywho, onto my plan for 2015-2017. Keep it simple and get it documented!
A 6×8 calendar page for each year where I can jot notes then on the opposite page 12 2x2inch pictures from throughout December. Simple, quick and doable!!
I’ve included an envelope at the end so I can extra bits and pieces I want to keep/remember
The calendars I’m using are from A Stitch in Time. I’ve been using her calendars for ages and I love them so will keep using them each year until she stops doing them LOL
Seriously though, why have I not thought of doing this before. Keep it simple. It doesn’t need to be fancy. I don’t need to compare myself to other people. The albums are for my girls and they are just happy to look at the pictures and remember their way.
Let’s get creating!!!
The theme for the Awesome Ladies Project for 2018 is Book of Me. I’m loving this so far. I’ve gone with a 6×8 album this year to give me a bit more room that last years 4×4.
So far this year I’ve been using Kristin’s Currently cards a lot. I love these and it makes it super easy to document what’s going on in my life.
My cover and January pages
February was all about Currently. My 4 weeks of Currently Friday. I’ve done a bit of journaling on the back of each cards to note important events that took place each week.
I turned 40 at the end of January so documented that
Gardening has been a big part of my life lately so it got documented too.
I’ve got a couple of more Currently stories to document so I’ll share them next time.
Another month done and dusted. February was all about Favourites.
Starting with my 3×8 divider page
My Currently page for February, with a couple of watercolour quote cards. A page about my favourite person to spend time with. Overlays, hearts and glitter washi
Then a page about music. I love music, it’s probably one thing I couldn’t live without and my favourite foods
Favourite TV shows and movies then some of my favourite photos so far in 2017 and some random favourite
I’ve finally finished my Awesome Ladies Project pages for January, February & March (thanks in part to the 100 day project) but never got around to posting so over the next few days I’ll be sharing them here
I’ve started my album with a 3×8 pocket and 2 3×4 cards from my stash and backed it with a 3×8 page from Ali Edwards.
Next we welcome January pages with a Snapcaht of me, my January Currently list and 5 facts about me. The backside of that page is a #thursday3 list, a mirror selfie and a quote card I had in my Becky Higgins collection.
Another 3×8 divider. Front side is a list of 39 things about me (as I’m 39 this year) and the reverse is my journaling for my Day in the Life, which I did on my birthday.
Next up a mini snapshot of my Day in the Life using a bunch of 2×2 pictures.
Well, yet again I fell off the wagon and haven’t managed to create a page a day. Life (& work) has gotten in the way of my creative mojo. BUT I have a plan. I’m just going to try for 100 layouts even if it takes me til the end of the year. I may do a bunch in one day. I may do one in a week. But I will be sharing them. So here are the first 10 pages I have done so far.
* My ALP pages will get their own posts so you will be able to check them out there
What Is the 100-Day Project? It’s a celebration of process that encourages everyone to participate in 100 days of making. The great surrender is the process; showing up day after day is the goal. For the 100-Day Project, it’s not about fetishizing finished products—it’s about the process. You can check it out or maybe even sign up for your own 100 Day Project here. We kick off on the 4th of April 2017.
I attempted this last year and failed but upside is I have a pile of pretty homemade PL cards. You can see some of them here.
This year I have decided that I’m going to do something, hopefully, more doable and something I need to get done – 100 layouts in 100 days. My hashtag, if you want to follow along on Instagram will be #nightwolfdoes100layouts
Another round of Day in the Life this year. We had a pretty busy day but I didn’t really take a lot of photos.
Highlights of the day…
temper tantrums because someone didn’t want to wear her new clothes to soccer
soccer. They won 6-0.
walking to the footy. Fireworks and celebrations of 15 years of Hawthorn FC in Tasmania.
It’s footy time! Lots of snuggles today. And the Hawks won. Just.
A little Pokemon Go on the way back to the car. 2 Pokestops and a couple of new Pokemon. Plus we learned something new.
KFC for tea.
Mum and dad time – tv, social media and a cold drink
A little brain training before bed
Gotta love the Day One app for my Day in the Life journaling.
