Well

the post a day idea has kinda fallen thu lol I thought it might but that is ok. I will, however make sure I post at least once a week – therefore will be taking part in post a week 2011.

postaweek-badge-big

Been pretty busy lately. Have done a little digi scrapping. Another page for Log Your Memory

Challenge 03

no paper scrapping. I really want to get my 2010 JYC album finished.
Been busy working on The Scrapping Shoebox. Check the previous post for details of the contributor call. Working on an organising ‘challenge’ for the site. Um what else, enjoying summer, trying to organise my birthday (which is next week) and bub’s first birthday.

Anywho off to find some photos to print, I feel like doing some scrapping Smile

Things my child will never know

I found this article via one of the blogs I read & I thought “hmm this is so true”

Miss K will know about videos as her Dad has a small collection (including 2 copies of the original Star Wars – I swear every time a new version comes out we buy it … speaking of which, bring on September – all 6 Star Wars on Blu-ray *squee*)

I hope the author is wrong about books cause nothing beats holding a book in your hands – I can’t get into reading books on my laptop/phone (or kindle if I had one lol)

CDs – um, so I plan to get rid of my collection & make them all digital?? don’t think so. Heck I still own a heap of vinyl – I love the sound of music on vinyl.

Oh yeah the list isn’t about me lol

ABC

This week I’m going to look at the free ABC app. (This is an Australia only app – apologies to my overseas readers)

Site: http://www.abc.net.au/
About: Read, watch and listen to the latest news, sport and entertainment from Australia’s national broadcaster.
Get it here
Cost: Free

What I think: Gotta love our ABC. This app is great when I’m out and about and want to catch up with the latest news.
I like: you can watch and listen to ABC through the app
What I’d like to see: more local radio stations streaming (but I have another app for that)
What I don’t like: haven’t found anything yet

A little about me

Originally I was going to create a blog for all facets of my personal life and spirituality. But the fates have decided that I can’t keep up with more than one blog (I’m really slack at updating even our business one – but work is quiet over Christmas so it is ok). Seriously I start a blog, post one or two times and then, well it gets left by the wayside. This is the longest blog I’ve had. I started out on blogger many moons ago and then I moved over to a free WordPress account and then I started playing with WordPress on our work hosting for our work blog. To cut a long story short – I ended up moving to this one.

I digress though. This blog has really become my one blog of everything – scrapbooking, art journals, photography, life, heck everything really. So tonight I while I am working on a new theme I’ll be redoing my Categories (& maybe a few tags too), sorting my widgets, adding a few new things (like my ad/affiliate link thing) and maybe adding a few new pages. I may even rename the blog (but the url will stay the same.

Oh yeah, I’ll b back shortly with iphone app saturday (I know, it’s a day late lol)

so off to work on my template & think of a new name for this, my little piece of the web.

Seriously woman

pick a theme LOL

I’ve gone back to the plain theme cause I’m really not happy with that pink theme.

So back to the drawing board to create my own theme – might be the project for tonight while the little one is asleep 😉

In other news I’m gonna revamp some themed posts – iPhone app Saturday will be coming back this Saturday. Hoping to b back tomorrow with the starts of a new theme that is me for 2011 – all organised hehe

I’m Posting every day in 2011!

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now.  I will be posting on this blog once a day for all of 2011. I thought “Well if I can do it for a whole month in November why not try a whole year!”

I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

If you’re a fellow Daily Poster, say hi so I can come visit your blog Smile

My word for 2011

is ORGANISE

2011_01(supplies from Scrapbook Graphics Art Journal Caravan. Font is Little Days)

This year I want to be more organised. No more hunting for something because I don’t know where it is. No more searching for clean washing. No more searching for ages to find supplies when I want to scrapbook something.
To help myself achieve the goal of being more organised I have decided I will:
* restart the Flylady routines but rejigged to work for me
* do a daily load of washing (of a night when it’s cheaper) & then putting it away as soon as it is dry
* sit down, plan and then put into place a better system for my scrap supplies (this looks like it will be at Mum & Dad’s as Mum is setting up a scrap room. I will be limiting my stuff here to my scrap trolley I’m getting for my birthday)
* sorting out & keeping only the things I use & love (this could be a fight with hubby as he won’t get rid of anything – do we really need nearly 30 coffee mugs – we never have that many people here). The rest will be donated. If I’m not sure about it, I’ll pack it in a box and if I don’t miss it after 6 months, it can go.

On another note, I’m giving Project 365 another go (this will b my third year) & I’m hoping I can actually do a full 356 this year. I usually get to about May or June & give up *sigh* I really want to finish a full year. Maybe I just need a plan of things to photograph.

2010 a year in review

You may notice a small change in my blog theme. Christmas is now over so it’s time for a new theme. Sticking with something simple for now. And using the Pantone colour for 2011 – Honeysuckle.
(Did you know you can download the Pantone colour palette for the year here.)

Do you know I have never done a year in review post (well not that I can remember anyways) but thanks to the Log Your Memory 2010 logbook I can go back through the year and summarise what happened.

Most of January was spent getting the house ready for bub’s arrival and setting up the office. Grandma turned 94, Dad turned 60 and I turned 32.
February saw the arrival of Miss K on the 16th. Spent 4 days in hospital. Johnathan’s 1st birthday. March came and with it Gran’s 90th birthday. Enjoying motherhood and amazed at this little person. James turned 40 in April and Miss K had her first Easter (no eggs but a giant bunny). Also had her first round of immunisations. April also saw Miss K attend her first Hawks function, her first Anzac Day dawn service and spend her first day away from us when we went to the footy. May and my first Mother’s Day. Miss K gave me a gorgeous silver locket. Mum & Dad headed off overseas for their trip to Singapore, England, Scotland, Crete and then Canada (all in 6 weeks). Got back into art journaling thanks to the Scrapbook Graphics Art Journal Caravan. Miss K has started to sit up supported. Friends gave birth to a baby boy, Austin.
And that brings us to June. Bought myself some Copics through the Lime Tart Copic club – a new obsession is born. Miss K attended her first AFL game. Stayed awake for most of the game. Took a weekender to Hobart to visit my little bro. Mum & Dad came home. Mum celebrated her 60th birthday. July and Miss K is now rolling around. We went to Hawks mid-winter event while Miss K stayed with Mum & Dad. Made the CT for Princess Lala designs. August was Uncle Homer’s 70th and Miss K starting solids. We bought a new bed (woohoo queen size instead of double LOL), bedside tables, tall boy, mattress and room screen. The Federal Election ended up coming down to the line but the ALP won thanks to the Greens & Independents. Miss K’s first word was dada. September was Father’s Day and James got new slippers. Started building a run for the cat’s, it’s gonna b huge! Then we had our kitchen reno but that’s another story for another day. The AFL Grand Final was between Collingwood & St Kilda. It was a draw (so come back next weekend lol – Collingwood won). Into October and we got new laptops. Miss K cut her first tooth, went to the Launceston Show and had her first major ouchie. Finally got around to watching Avatar. My little bro went to Egypt to do some diving. November came and saw Miss K crawling round everywhere. FIL had his second knee op (to fix the one from before – another long story). The Australian dollar reached parity with the US dollar, briefly at about midnight for about 1 minute. We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary (by doing nothing). We got a new washing machine. Went to Scotsdale show. Had a visit from my godparents. Finally December saw lots of shopping for Christmas, getting our kitchen done, Miss K celebrating 10 months (!!), finally joining the Journal Your Christmas class, Miss K having her first Santa photo and getting her fourth tooth, all of us getting a summer head cold, celebrating Christmas, watching the Dr Who Christmas special on Boxing Day, getting new bunnies and finally spending a quiet nite at home for New Year’s.

Wow what a year! I hope 2011 is an awesome year. I’ll be back later with my word for 2011.
