My Passion Project

You may have guessed I love scrapbooking. It’s the one industry I would really, really love to work in.

I’ve been doing some thinking and looking into doing the party plan type thing after bub #2 is born as it’s something I could do in my own time.

I’d love to hear from you of your experiences with different companies. The ones I’m looking at so far are Kaszazz, Stampin Up  or CTMH

Cinco de Mayo

I will admit I know nothing about Cinco de Mayo so thanks to Wikipedia

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “fifth of May”) is a celebration held on May 5. It is celebrated in the United States[1] and in Mexico, primarily in the state of Puebla,[note 1][2][3][4] where the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla).[5][6][7]

It originated with Mexican-American communities in the American West as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War,[8][9] and today the date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.[10] In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army‘s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.[3][11] Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day—the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico—which is celebrated on September 16.

So there we go, know we all know a little more 🙂 You’re welcome

Weekend morning routine

What routine? LOL Seriously though we don’t really have a routine of a weekend that is any different to during the week. The joys of being a stay-at-home mum.

We get up, sometimes after a big cuddle session and a chat especially of a weekend. Breakfast. Shower. Then it’s on with our day.

Do you have morning routine of a weekend?

Blogging Every Day in May 2014

Blog Every Day in May badge

You may remember I did something like this last May but it was hosted by a different blog. I found this year’s challenge via my new bloggy buddy  Em at Snowingindoors (you’ll meet her soon when we do a blog swap as part of International Blog Swap Day). Welcome if you’re new to my blog, nice to have you here *waves*

So day one’s topic is – What is your blog all about?

Nightwolf’s Den is a little craft, a little parenting & a lot of me.

A lot of the time I blog about my scrapbooking especially my Project Life pages and my design team work for Life in Details. When I’m not blogging about scrapbooking I love sharing recipes and now that I have a Thermomix I’m sharing recipes I’ve converted or have made.
Then there is the story of our renovations. We bought a ‘fixer-upper’ and are slowly working our way around the house – we’re about to have our bathroom gutted *squee* so I imagine I’ll be blogging about that.
Since finding out we’re expecting bub #2 I’ve restarted my pregnancy/parenting blog – From the Wolf’s Den.
I also post reviews & giveaways from time to time. I have one cause that is close to my heart, and I‘m often found on here & social media posting about it – Ovarian Cancer. Ladies, you need to know the symptoms!

Um, what else? Social media wise you can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and Instagram

So that’s pretty much this blog in a nutshell. If you’d like to know a bit more about me you can always check out my About Me page. Thanks for reading 🙂

Where did the weekend go?

Gotta love a long weekend but seriously where did it go? Oh yeah that’s right – working on stuff for my blog and trying to plan a fairy party for a soon-to-be-4yo (OMG where did that time go?) and all that while having a small case of morning sickness (sooooo ready for that to be gone)

Anywho, I got a heap of bloggy stuff done during the blogathon….

  • Do some of the Blogathon mini challenges (see below)
  • Tidy up my Pinterest boards (not really a bloggy thing but well it’s a social media thing attached to my blog) – started but got overwhelmed. I need to sit down and work out a plan for this.
  • Clean up and sort emails – Inbox is empty and emails I need to keep are sorted into their respective folders
  • Do some planning in my blog planner – worked out a social media plan
  • Re-set up blogging app on new ipad – have put BlogPress on to try it out and see if it’s better than the WordPress one
  • work on Project Life pages – didn’t happen but scheduled it in my blog planner
  • Brainstorm ideas for blog – lots of ideas, now to implement them 🙂
  • Write up some posts & schedule them – started a few birthday party planning posts and a heap of stuff for February

I managed to get 5 of 6 the mini challenges I wanted to do done….

Feel like I got a bit done and I’m looking forward to getting back into blogging this year.

My bloggy to-do list

Hoping to get the following accomplished this weekend during the Blogathon.

  • Do some of the Blogathon mini challenges
  • Tidy up my Pinterest boards (not really a bloggy thing but well it’s a social media thing attached to my blog)
  • Clean up and sort emails
  • Do some planning in my blog planner
  • Re-set up blogging app on new ipad
  • work on Project Life pages
  • Brainstorm ideas for blog
  • Write up some posts & schedule them

Think that’s all for this weekend. Looking forward to seeing what others get up to and checking out some new blogs.

Winter (Summer) Blogathon 2014

Biannual Blogathon Bash

Can you believe it’s been 6 months since the last blogathon? I’m looking forward to taking part again this weekend.
What is the blogathon?

“You know all those items on your Blogging To Do list? Those things you’ve been meaning to get to but haven’t had a chance? Now’s your chance to get a large amount of them done”

There is more info about the blogathon and what people get up to over the weekend over on the Blogathon Blog and if you are interested, you can sign up too.

I’d love to know if you’re taking part so I can come over and say hi. We can even keep each other motivated 😉

Summer (winter) blogathon wrap up

Biannual Blogathon Bash

And just like that another Blogathon comes to an end. I managed to get a fair bit done this weekend even getting a little sidetracked by the mini challenges lol

I managed to get quite a few blog posts written up and scheduled (go me lol) and I’ve brainstormed some ideas for future blog posts. I backed up my blog (something I need to do more regularly). Emptied my inbox. Set up two blogging apps on my iPad*. My blog & social media branding is a lot more consistent now. I even worked out how to add a Pin it button to my posts (after not being able to find the bookmark)

I did start my blog planner but well didn’t do much of it. Same with tidying up my Pinterest boards. The one thing I didn’t do was get my Project Life slideshows done.

*I’m still not sure if I’ll use the WordPress app or the BlogPress app. What do you use? I’d love to hear others thoughts
