We will remember them {free printable journal cards}

Today is Remembrance Day here in Australia. At 11am people around the country will pause for a minutes silence to remember those who fight for their country, who lost their lives in battle or as a result of battle. The brave men and women who served and continue to serve.

This year I decided to add a card to both my girls’ Project Life albums. I decided to make a set of free printable journal cards for project life in different sizes in case anyone else wanted to use it. Image came from someone on Facebook and I’m searching for the original. Anywho, here are the cards. They are free for personal use. There are 2 4×6 and 2 3×4.

My PL wish list (May 2014)

This list could get really, really long but I’ll keep it to what I really want this month. Things I would actually use in current projects not just buy & leave sitting around 😉

What’s on your wish list right now?

From the Den Kitchen: Recipe Book – Project Life style

One of the things on my 101 Things list was to Create a custom recipe book. I’ve been procrastinating on this one for sooooo long because I’m never sure how I want to do it. Then I saw a post over at A Vegas Girl at Heart about her recipe book. She even shared a very cute freebie and that sparked an idea.

So I did some searching around and, after deciding I’d be using a 6×8 Sn@p binder, bought one through PaperTrenz along with some pocket pages. I also ended up buying a gorgeous digital kit – {love} my organized recipes for 12×12 pocket pages  from September Blue designs.

The plan is to use a combination of these two kits to create an album of our family favourite recipes. I’m even planning to take photos of each recipe after it’s finished to add to the album. Now the long part – typing up all our favourite recipes. I’ve started, slowly.

Must say I am a little disappointed with the pocket pages. Cut my cover 6×8 and there’s a gap, same with the 3×4 and 4×6 pockets. Hubby says it’s not a big deal but I’m being a bit OCD about it 😉

So here’s my inside cover page, conversion chart (which comes in the September Blue kit) and the first divider page.

and then the first of the recipe pages. Two blank spots – one for a photo of the food and the other, no idea at this stage – a filler card, a quote, not really sure as yet.

And cause I’m in a giving mood 😉 I’m going to share the recipe above

Cheese & Capsicum roll

2 small tins diced capsicum, drained
⅔ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup white vinegar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
500g Philly cheese

Put sugar, capsicum, vinegar & cayenne in a small pan, bring to boil.
Bubble gently for 1 hour until jam consistency. Watch like a hawk cause it burns easily!!
Shape cream cheese into 2 logs. Pour sauce over. Chill.
Serve with crackers like Clix or something similar

Project Life Monthly ‘Meet-Up’

Earlier in the month I tweeted (& blogged) to see who would be interested in a monthly Project Life Meet-Up. I’ve had a few responses but I thought I’d put it out there again on my blog.

If you’ve never heard of Project Life I’ve included this little video by Project Life designer Becky Higgins and Beck has done a quick beginner’s guide.

Anyways, I thought it might be cool to get together once a month online and chat about how we’re going, share our favourite pages we’ve done in the last month, share links to our favourite Project Lifers, share links to our favourite resources/products to use in our albums, what ever you want.

Project Life get together

cultivate a good life by Becky Higgins

So this Project Life thing has got me thinking. Reading back over the hundreds of posts around the net from various people, one of the most common themes I see is people saying they are behind *sad panda*

(on a side note how cute is that panda?)

Anyways, back to the point in hand, Project Life. This got me thinking about things and ways to motivate if you will. I wondered if there would be any interest in a monthly ‘get together’ so to speak where Project Lifers could get together, share ideas, share pages, motivate each other and just hang out together. So there is is internet. Would anyone be interested? I’m happy to host something. And maybe our sad panda could be happy again
