It’s kinda healthy

Just thought I’d share with you a little snack I made for the Your Inspirations At Home party mum had today. It’s a totally yummo Bacon & Corn Cobb Loaf.

The original recipe comes from the YIAH recipe community but I changed it to use what I had to hand 🙂

Bacon & Corn Cobb Loaf

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 3 rashers bacon, chopped
  • 3 spring onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons YIAH Herb & Garlic Dip Mix (this is so yummy in so many different things)
  • 440g tin of creamed corn
  • 300g sour cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 round cobb bread loaf (I made mine in the Thermomix using this recipe)

Pre-heat oven to 180C. Heat olive oil in a pan and cook bacon, spring onion and dip mix for a few minutes.
Add all the remaining ingredients (except the loaf) to the pan and stir until heated through.
Remove a “lid” from the bread loaf, and remove the centre to create a bowl. Tear the removed pieces into chunks.
Place the bread ‘bowl’ in the oven for about 5 minutes.
Remove the bread from the oven and fill it with the mixture, then return it to the oven, surrounded by the chunks of bread, for a further 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Date Night

Hubby & I haven’t had a real date night in such a long time, way before Miss K was born. I’m talking a real date night – just the 2 of us, no other friends. Today I thought I might indulge myself a little and describe my dream date night (hubby if you’re reading …..)

Obviously we’d drop Miss K (& bub #2 who is currently known as little ninja) off with my parents, the in-laws or we’d get my second cousin to baby sit again (she does an awesome job!)

For tea if we’re in the mood for Chinese it would either be the Canton or Me Wah but if we were in the mood for something else it would be Jailhouse Grill or Cataract on Paterson.

After that maybe a movie or just a little late night shopping or a few quiet drinks at one of the local nightspots.

What would you do on a dream date night?

And now for something completely different…

Something you may not know about me – I play role playing games (RPGs) – the pen & paper types not the LARP (Live Action Role Play – get dressed up & do stuff) type things. Think games like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Conspiracy X (I seriously LOVE this game and can’t wait to finally get the last of our Kickstarter stuff), Battletech and the like. Not Magic though cause I could never really get into Collectible Card Games (CCGs).

Anywho, last year Wizards of the Coast ran a play test for the next version of D&D and have released the details of when the new version will be released.

The following info has come from EN World – which if you are into RPGs is a great source of info (but I’m guessing if you’re into RPGs you probably already know this)

and the logo has changed. WotC have brought back the good old fire breathing dragon ampersand

Tomorrow we’ll be back to our normal topics 😉

My workspace

My actual work workspace is pretty boring – it’s my laptop on a moveable desk. Means I can work around family or most nights, in front of the telly. So today I thought I’d share with you my scrapbooking workspace as it is now. I have grand dreams of having my own space but for now it’s the dining room.

Most of my pages are planned digitally so my workspace on my laptop includes Photoshop (& Bridge), Evernote for jotting down ideas & journaling and YouTube and the net for inspiration

Once I’ve planned & printed I’ll take my iPad & photos to the dining room and I’ll spread out on our dining room table (when it’s not being overtaken by hubby & his mates playing D&D)

So there you have it. It’s not the best setup but it works for now. It needs more organising though so I can find everything. And I need to create a list of what I have here and what I have at Mum & Dad’s in Mum’s awesome scrap room.

Museum Day – my favourite museum

My favourite museum hands down is the one in Melbourne. We used to make regular visits there when we visited and live in Melbourne. It has so many cool permanent exhibitions and the visiting exhibitions are always interesting so there can be something different each time you visit.
I’m hoping to take Miss K there next time we visit Melbourne & that she loves it as much as I did.

A day in the life….

I nearly forgot to do this, especially after having a slight sleep in this morning, thanks to hubby, after a shocking night. Also I’m not very good at taking photos on the hour cause I tend to forget lol so I don’t think any photos are exactly on the hour.

edited: I forgot a photo last night so have come back to add it
