We Will Remember Them

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 – 1918)

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

It’s all about life’s little journeys

and my next little journey is going to involve a list. A list of things I wish to accomplish between now and when bub is born in February.

  1. move the office into the new room
  2. work out if we want to repaint the nursery
  3. work out what furniture we want in the nursery
  4. breastfeeding & parenting classes
  5. buy some bub clothes
  6. have a 3d ultrasound – booked in for this next week.
  7. work on our birth plan
  8. pack my hospital bag
  9. have a baby shower

I may add more to this list when I think of other things that need doing and as things get done I’ll be updating here (& on bub’s blog)

Happy International Digital Scrapbook Day

Hope you’re all snapping up a bargain & grabbing some awesome freebies (don’t forget to leave some thanks for the awesome designers).

The weather here is gorgeous again and I’m really starting to enjoy it although I’m not sure I will if the bub belly gets too much bigger.

Speaking of bub, someone’s been very active over the last few days especially with the warmer weather.

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend.

P.S. I’ll be back with some freebies to share later.

Just an ordinary day

Not much happened today but it’s always these days where I seem to notice something interesting.

today I decided to paint my nails and I noticed how much my nails have grown.

I used to bite my nails (seriously I bit them for years) but stopped a couple of years back. I’ve never been able to grow them very long cause they always snap or break. hubby on the other hand can grow his nails really long and they are super strong.

anyways back to my nails and what I noticed today. I’ve grown my nails! and they are long and they are strong.

(oops forgot to add the pic yesterday)

hmm must be a pregnancy thing.

so yeah that was the most exciting thing that happened today.

A List for Thursday

Going to start sharing lists of my favourites every Thursday.

Today my list is my 5 favourite places on the net to hang out right now (in no particular order)

1. Roll 2 Create

Roll2Create

One of my favourite scrapping sites (I’m kinda biased though cause I’m the owner lol) We’re currently undergoing a few updates and changes and are looking to our New Beginnings in January 2010. Feel free to stop by & say g’day.

2. Bub Hub

bubhub2

This is my main haunt for all things pregnancy & baby related. The ladies here are super friendly and always ready to lend an ear, support or advice.

3. Shimelle.com

Shimelle

Seriously I *pink puffy heart* Shimelle. Her classes are amazing. I’d love to take the Journal your Christmas class but I think I’ll wait til next year Happy what a great way to journal bub’s first Christmas.

4. Organized Christmas

Organizedchristmas

This site will hopefully help me be less stressed over the Christmas period. I’m taking part in the Christmas Countdown. You can read more about it @ my Christmas blog.

and finally

5. Log Your Memory

logyourmemory

A great forum. I’m doing The Gift of the Year 2010 class at the moment there and I bought the 2010 Memory Log Book e-book. Another site that will hopefully help me journal more.

So that’s my first list. What’s your favourite site right now?

Yesterday

Got home last night and just crashed. I was sooo tired.

The appointment I had at 1 was cancelled because the guy was sick but they forgot to ring me & let me know so we ended up spending a couple of hours just wandering around town, ended up meeting up with my MIL (we had FIL with us) for tea before hubby & I went to the Ante-natal class (more bout that on bub’s blog). and then when we got home hubby wasn’t feeling well. so it was an interesting wedding anniversary LOL Gonna do something special for him 2morrow night if he feels a bit better – like cook a candle lit tea.

So in Shimelle’s class yesterday we discussed what we put on our blogs & scrap pages, and what we choose to share & what we choose to keep private.

There is lots I don’t blog about especially when it comes to family. I guess the same is true for my scrap pages. I’m not very good when it comes to journaling. I’m trying to add more hidden journaling to pages now so I can tell more of the story.

The prompt for yesterday was to choose a story I’d like to scrap about (not today but in the future) and share a little bit about it here with you all. The rest will be hidden journaling that I won’t be sharing. Things that are more personal and stuff I guess the world doesn’t need to know Tongue

So what picture do I want to scrap about????

I’m slowly working on bub’s album (the little wolflet) so I might share the story of the day this scan was taken. (All the journaling in bub’s album will be written to bub.)

“This is you on October 22nd and you behaved beautifully for the ultrasound technician.

The funniest thing happened during the scan. We were chatting away to the tech while she did the scan and she turned and said to me “did you feel that too?”. Yup, you kicked the bit she was scanning and we could see it.

Both your grandmothers were there for the scan too which was nice.”

I plan on adding some hidden journaling to the page sharing our hopes and dreams for our little one. Something they can read when they are older.
