My PL wish list (May 2014)
This list could get really, really long but Iāll keep it to what I really want this month. Things I would actually use in current projects not just buy & leave sitting around š
(Images are linked)
- The Daily Stamps (digital) at Peppermint Creative. All 5 versions (so far). This is the May set
- Peppermint Creative LIP: Hello Let’s Go 3×4″ Journal & Filler Cards (digital) for my BYS album
- Personal Yearbook Mini Kit for Miss Kās yearbook I plan on starting this year cause she started pre-kindy this week!
- Cats Theme Pack for a mini album I want to finish on our cats. Started way back when I started scrapping in 2005!
- School Theme Pack for Miss Kās yearbook.
- List cards from Becky. Not sure what project I might use them in but I do want them LOL
Whatās on your wish list right now?
Share the bloggy love
Cause I love finding new blogs & blog lists like this are a great way to find some new reads
In no particular order:
BBQ goodness
Another week, another theme – National Barbecue Week.
Whatās your go to BBQ food?
Me – chicken & ham kebabs, potato salad, chips, layered garden salad. Not really a steak or snag girl. Much prefer chicken kebabs or maybe even a bit of seafood.
Keep an eye out over the next few weeks, cause Iāll be sharing the kebab recipe and the salad recipe.
Bank holidays
Today is apparently a Bank Holiday in the UK. Sadly not a holiday here. BUT there is a rumour going around that the next Bank Holiday in the UK (in August) will be when the new series of Doctor Who starts. Namely cause of this 15 second teaser trailer
*SQUEE* means a new bubby & new Doctor Who in the same month!
The best thing about being a kid
I seriously donāt know whatās going on with my blog for the last few days – Iāve had scheduled posts but none went live when they were meant to. Everything is up now and up-to-date.
(ācause weāve already done the best thing about being an adult)
- face painting (but doing that as an adult is still fun)
- superhero costumes – cause you canāt really dress as a superhero every day as an adult š
- running round rude and nobody really caring
- running through the sprinkler – was there anything more fun during summer?
- awesome toys!
- awesome clothes
Whatās your favourite thing about being a kid?
Itās kinda healthy
Just thought Iād share with you a little snack I made for the Your Inspirations At Home party mum had today. Itās a totally yummo Bacon & Corn Cobb Loaf.
The original recipe comes from the YIAH recipe community but I changed it to use what I had to hand š
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 3 rashers bacon, chopped
- 3 spring onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons YIAH Herb & Garlic Dip Mix (this is so yummy in so many different things)
- 440g tin of creamed corn
- 300g sour cream
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 round cobb bread loaf (I made mine in the Thermomix using this recipe)
Pre-heat oven to 180C. Heat olive oil in a pan and cook bacon, spring onion and dip mix for a few minutes.
Add all the remaining ingredients (except the loaf) to the pan and stir until heated through.
Remove a ālidā from the bread loaf, and remove the centre to create a bowl. Tear the removed pieces into chunks.
Place the bread ābowlā in the oven for about 5 minutes.
Remove the bread from the oven and fill it with the mixture, then return it to the oven, surrounded by the chunks of bread, for a further 5 minutes. Serve hot.
Date Night
Hubby & I havenāt had a real date night in such a long time, way before Miss K was born. Iām talking a real date night – just the 2 of us, no other friends. Today I thought I might indulge myself a little and describe my dream date night (hubby if youāre reading ā¦..)
Obviously weād drop Miss K (& bub #2 who is currently known as little ninja) off with my parents, the in-laws or weād get my second cousin to baby sit again (she does an awesome job!)
For tea if weāre in the mood for Chinese it would either be the Canton or Me Wah but if we were in the mood for something else it would be Jailhouse Grill or Cataract on Paterson.
After that maybe a movie or just a little late night shopping or a few quiet drinks at one of the local nightspots.
What would you do on a dream date night?
And now for something completely differentā¦
Something you may not know about me – I play role playing games (RPGs) – the pen & paper types not the LARP (Live Action Role Play – get dressed up & do stuff) type things. Think games like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Conspiracy X (I seriously LOVE this game and canāt wait to finally get the last of our Kickstarter stuff), Battletech and the like. Not Magic though cause I could never really get into Collectible Card Games (CCGs).
Anywho, last year Wizards of the Coast ran a play test for the next version of D&D and have released the details of when the new version will be released.
The following info has come from EN World – which if you are into RPGs is a great source of info (but Iām guessing if youāre into RPGs you probably already know this)
and the logo has changed. WotC have brought back the good old fire breathing dragon ampersand
For more about the new D&D check out this post on EN Worlds
Tomorrow weāll be back to our normal topics š
My workspace
My actual work workspace is pretty boring – itās my laptop on a moveable desk. Means I can work around family or most nights, in front of the telly. So today I thought Iād share with you my scrapbooking workspace as it is now. I have grand dreams of having my own space but for now itās the dining room.
Most of my pages are planned digitally so my workspace on my laptop includes Photoshop (& Bridge), Evernote for jotting down ideas & journaling and YouTube and the net for inspiration
Once Iāve planned & printed Iāll take my iPad & photos to the dining room and Iāll spread out on our dining room table (when itās not being overtaken by hubby & his mates playing D&D)
So there you have it. Itās not the best setup but it works for now. It needs more organising though so I can find everything. And I need to create a list of what I have here and what I have at Mum & Dadās in Mumās awesome scrap room.
