July & August bujo bits

Just sharing my July cover and some of the bits I’m trying out this month

Got some new feather washi so I decided to go with a feathery theme for my cover

At the end of the month I added my little tribute to Chester Bennington. Little digi doodle by me and the lyrics to One More Light.

August I’m trying a few new things but first my cover…

tying it in with my tribute page with the candles and August is also Miss A’s 3rd birthday. Instead of doing a full page tracker I’m trying boxes and I’m also adding a weekly mood tracker sticker to track my moods. Wil see how it goes and if I continue this way next month.

101 in 1001

I did this way back in 2011 to 2014 (you can see that list here) and thought I’d love to give it a go again. So I’m starting on the 1st of August.

The mission – Finish 101 things in 1001 days.

Starting – 1 August 2017

Finishing – 28 April 2020

The following is copied from Just a one girl revolution and I love how she worded it so I’m adding it here 🙂

“the criteria: Tasks must be specific (i.e., no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e., represent some amount of work on my part).

why 1001 days?: Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.”

Celebrity deaths

Wrote a huge post on this and then deleted it. It was too sad (& a bit lot personal)

RIP Chester. I hope you are in a better place. The world will miss your amazing voice.

“Who cares if one more light goes out?
In the sky of a million stars
It flickers, flickers
Who cares when someone’s time runs out?
If a moment is all we are
Or quicker, quicker
Who cares if one more light goes out?
Well I do”

In the Den Kitchen–Bread

I love bread and I love making bread. I have a bread maker but it’s gathering dust since we got our Thermomix.

I’ve just signed up to do a free 7 day course with Sophia at Thermomix Baking Blogger to learn how to make 7 different types of bread. I’m really looking forward to it and sharing the results with you all.

It doesn’t start until August so you have plenty of time to join if you wish to bake along too.

Talking bout planners….

I’ve been using my Bullet Journal now since mid October last year and I’m definitely sold! I love how flexible it is and how I can just add what I like, I’m not stuck with a set layout each week. It can be as fancy r as plain as I want it to be. But recently I started thinking…. I’m nearly at the end of my first journal and I don’t really love the idea of having to migrate half finished collections to my new book. So what’s a girl to do?

Then Kara at Boho Berry posted a video on how she’s transferring her bullet journal to a traveller’s notebook set up (you can read about it and watch the video here). This really sold me on the idea and I thought this could be the solution to my planner problems. I can keep using my Leuchtturm, add an insert for my collections and have an insert for my scrapbook planner which is lying abandoned somewhere in my room because realistically I can’t use more than one planner.

Now to find me a cover and some inserts, maybe have a go at making my own.
ETA: before I decided to hit post I had a go at making my own insert using this tutorial and using this YouTube video for the binding

Will your still here I might as well share some spreads I’ve created since December.

In the Den Kitchen – update

I have realised, going back through my blog that a lot of the recipes I published using a recipe plugin are no longer there *insert sad face here* so what’s a girl to do?
Slowly go through all my foodie posts and check that they are all ok and actually have a recipe listed!
Once they are all happy again they will be listed in the master index which you can find under the Recipes tab. Don’t click on the word Recipes as it will take you to my Pinterest page.

Thanks for understanding and before you go, check out my last recipe – Pork stir fry
